I’m not going to China.
I couldn’t get a working visa.
I’m not sure what I’m going to do instead. I’m currently in the process of applying for almost every job in the country, and one or two abroad. Also considering going back to university to get more qualified, because I know I need a change in career, for the sake of my sanity.
I don’t know. We’ll see. I shall keep you posted.
I’m just feeling a little silly after I held a going away party and everything.
In the meantime I’ve written a more interesting blog post that I’ll share with you as soon as I’m feeling brave enough.
Asbestos is the single greatest cause of work-related deaths in the UK. Do you provide health and safety advice and guidance so that those who may be exposed to asbestos at work know what to do to protect themselves and others?

Sometimes stuff happens, and not getting religious or spiritual or metaphysical about it, it usually ends up something more right is on the way, fast on the heels of the current “disappointment”.

Shame, i thought it was all sorted and a done deal. Hey, at least you got to learn some mandarin, you wouldnt have done that otherwise. And you’d miss throwing foil balls for Natalie. Something will come up.

It was supposed to be. I was meant to be starting next week. I had an apartment. And it never occurred to anyone that the visa thing would be an issue. They’ve never refused me a visa before. But then I’ve never been on mirtazapine before either…

wow, that’s pretty last minute! I look forward to reading about the many job offers and uni places you will have to choose from.

THAT was the reason? I can’t believe it! I don’t know what to say. But it’s great to know you’re not giving up on everything. I’ve been considering going back to university too – better qualifications equals more chances, at least that’s what I like to think.
Hope to read about where your life is heading next soon!

Yeah. There are four reasons you can be denied a visa: if they suspect you of being up to no good, if you have drug convictions (as they’re all capital offences in China), if they suspect that you’re infectious, or if they suspect that you’re ‘mentally deranged’. And based on the medical form I had to submit, filled out by my doctor, they decided I fell into the final category. xx
