Life, Working

I’m Not Going To China

I’m not going to China.

I couldn’t get a working visa.

I’m not sure what I’m going to do instead. I’m currently in the process of applying for almost every job in the country, and one or two abroad. Also considering going back to university to get more qualified, because I know I need a change in career, for the sake of my sanity.

I don’t know. We’ll see. I shall keep you posted.

I’m just feeling a little silly after I held a going away party and everything.

In the meantime I’ve written a more interesting blog post that I’ll share with you as soon as I’m feeling brave enough.

    1. It was supposed to be. I was meant to be starting next week. I had an apartment. And it never occurred to anyone that the visa thing would be an issue. They’ve never refused me a visa before. But then I’ve never been on mirtazapine before either…

      1. THAT was the reason? I can’t believe it! I don’t know what to say. But it’s great to know you’re not giving up on everything. I’ve been considering going back to university too – better qualifications equals more chances, at least that’s what I like to think.
Hope to read about where your life is heading next soon!

        1. Yeah. There are four reasons you can be denied a visa: if they suspect you of being up to no good, if you have drug convictions (as they’re all capital offences in China), if they suspect that you’re infectious, or if they suspect that you’re ‘mentally deranged’. And based on the medical form I had to submit, filled out by my doctor, they decided I fell into the final category. xx

I'd love to hear what you think...
